The Blitzboks secured their spot in the finals of the 2019 Cape Town Sevens with a come-from-behind win over France in the semi-finals. South Africa will deal with New Zealand in a repeat of the final in Dubai. Start is at 18: 56 (SAST).
As has been the case for much of the weekend, Les Blues put in a brutal shift against the hosts.
South Africa made it hard for themselves early on, yielding four first-half penalties once again, which suggested their defence was appropriately checked.
Dylan Sage admitted after the match that the first half has been an issue for the team at the tournament up until now. He included that it may simply be a “psychological switch” that the group requires to flick.
South Africa have not made the final of the Cape Town Sevens considering that the 2016-17 season, where they lost versus England. They’ve just won the CT Sevens when– when it first relocated to the Mother City back in 2015.
New Zealand romped to a 24 -7 win over Fiji in the other semi-final. The All Blacks were held scoreless in the Dubai final against South Africa last weekend.
